christmas is coming and i couldn't be more hyped (because, let's be real, who needs a holiday between october 31st and december 25th?). it's just now starting to feel fall-ish here in new orleans, so i've jumped in head first by wearing exclusively sweaters and scarves even when that means sweating profusely while walking in between classes. i'm still convincing myself it's worth it. above are a few things i've been dreaming about under the tree, but it's filled with some pretty awesome, gender-neutral beauties for everyone on your nice list this season. happy shopping!
keeping in line with the fest fashion theme, i'm showcasing another one of my favorite brands, for love & lemons. they're notorious for their skivvies (which are absolutely breathtaking), but also have a collection of bunny-soft knits, lacy crop + skirt sets, and the sheer, appliqué-dusted dresses shown above. unless you live in a big metropolitan area where no one judges you for what you wear (i envy you!) or you just don't care what people think (i envy you, too!), these might only be realistic at three-day-long concerts. whether you throw on your swimsuit, hotpants and a bralette, or a full bodysuit under, you just can't go wrong. make sure you scan their whole line, and be prepared to fall in love.
pass the coconut water.

festival season is officially upon us! one of the reasons concerts are so fun is that you can dress up to match the show and wear something you normally wouldn't. music fests are a great time to break out anything bohemian. fringe, tassels, embroidery, perfection. it's not too late to shop for bonnaroo.
ditch the flowercrown (or don't).
spring is here, dear readers! if you kept up with paris and new york fashion weeks, you know that s/s 15 is all about the 70's. i'm loving suede, subtle fringe, stark whites... and saint laurent is this moment's brand to covet. unless you've been unplugged since, like, birth: you've heard of ysl. and although i really want to highlight under-the-radar labels, i cannot stop daydreaming about these moccasin+espadrille beauties (or any other pair of booties and sneaks they're dishing out). and i feel like i really need to shout to the world how much i love their shoes.
i'm totally a kicks girl. i could have only one pair of jeans, a perfectly-worn oversized white tee, and a cashmere sweater to my name and be perfectly happy as long as i had options ankle-down. as a wise man once said, "you spend all of your life in your bed or in your shoes, so it pays to invest in both." no truer words were ever spoken, my friend. and that is how i justify my obsession.
i wear predominately neutrals, but these gold glitter boots??? i weep. the trend of solid white sneaks is here to stay and i couldn't be more psyched about it. and although i have never been crazy about handbags, the sleek minimalism of the two above have me drooling. guys, i just can't get enough.
friends, family, secret admirers: shop here.

it is warming up down south and i couldn't be happier about it. i'm daydreaming about palm trees, tan lines, and lots of sunshine. can we just skip spring and jump right into the heat of summer?
this is my template for the perfect spring breakers uniform:
with this combination, you just can't go wrong. ditch the hat and get a quick blowout to go from day to night. great for riding with the top down and dancing on the beach.
can't you just smell the salt water?
guys, i have a confession. i am a shopaholic. my mother will be proud and disheartened by my admittance of this. but there are some benefits of my condition! i have seen the errors of my ways (or rather my bank account statement), and have become quite the savvy shopper! i will almost only buy things on sale. also, i was rightfully dubbed an "ebay diva" by a close friend, and i am ok with that. no one will look at your sweater (that you got brand new with tags for dirt cheap!!!) and say "oh, you got that from ebay, didn't you?" you can have nice things and pay your rent too!
throughout my shopaholic years (oh yes, i was diagnosed in middle school), i have found some really incredible brands, and i cannot wait to share them with you. one that i'm crushing hard on right now is wildfox couture. i have a couple sweaters and hoodies from them that i absolutely adore. they are high quality, adorable, and oh-so soft. i am by no means a graphic tee kinda girl, but these are just so freaking cute, how could you say no? they are great pieces for everyday wear and also many of them are beach themed (can you tell i'm craving summer?). check them out and snag a pair of their sunnies while you're at it!

if you're like me, you probably wait until the very last minute to buy gifts. i know boys are also super notorious for this (blame two brothers for making me "just one of the guys"), so i've made a little list of some of the things girls really want for valentine's day. you can thank me later, buddy.
and just like that, all her friends are saying she's "sooooo luckyyyyy" to have a guy like you. these are all great for any occasion, so refer back to them for birthdays, anniversaries, surprises, and other wrapping paper holidays. you'll be glad you did.
documenting the fun years.
